Our Favourite Puzzles for Kids

Puzzles are a fundamental part of a child's development, and they can come in many forms each one with its own aim and skillset.

To help you find the right puzzles for your child, we have compiled a list of our favourite types of puzzles and an example of each.

1.Observation puzzles: Spot the difference

Observation puzzles are perfect for developing their attention to detail and their concentration skills. Spot the difference is a great example of an observational puzzle, not only do you have to concentrate really hard, but the images are often fun and exciting.

2.Mechanical Puzzle: Jigsaw

These puzzles present the player with a problem that can be solved by manipulating the pieces and using logic, insight, dexterity, or reasoning. Jigsaw's are a lovely introduction to these types of puzzles, they are available for all ages and at every skill level.

3.Trivia Puzzle: Quiz

By answering questions and learning, you're improving your cognitive skills. Retaining information about topics you're interested in is like an exercise for your mind, allowing you to expand your intelligence and improve mental capabilities. This leads to greater creativity, innovation and problem-solving skills.

4.Logic Puzzle: Sudoku

Sudoku is an excellent way for kids to develop their logic skills while having fun. No maths is needed to complete the puzzles, and no guessing should be necessary either! PLUS playing Sudoku greatly improves memory skills.

5.Pattern Puzzles: Tangram

Like building blocks, tangrams can teach kids about special relationships. They may help kids learn geometric terms, and develop stronger problem solving abilities.
